- What? Reportage is a life-logging app for iPhone. Record your answers to configurable questions together with surrounding context.
- Why? Some people have their portrait taken. Others meticulously record the minutiae of their life. Reportage is for one of those groups.
- How (much)? Reportage will be free.
How does it work…
You decide the questions you want to answer and how often you want to be prompted. Reportage sends notifications throughout the day. Tap a notification to answer in-app, or choose Instant Report to file a report now that you'll come back and fill out later.
What gets recorded…
Your answers, plus the context around them: the location, the weather, your steps and activity so far that day. Your reports are stored on your iPhone and never sent to me. Health data stays on your iPhone.
This is like Reporter…
It is! I used Reporter for more than a decade until it started to break. Export your old reports as JSON and import them into Reportage. You can export your reports from Reportage as JSON at any time.
How much did you rely on coding agents…
Almost entirely. I directed coding agents in the production of the code with the goal of avoiding A.I. slop. You can judge for yourself how well I did. Reportage is open source software and the repository is available here.
